It's such a relief to listen to this album. Just when I thought, this is it, Angie Stone has come to the end of the road, she's come out with 'The Very Best Of Angie Stone' and proven me wrong.

Normally, when an artist puts together a 'Best Of' album, it means one of many things, none of which are positive. But for the talented, it's a different story — and Angie Stone proves it.

From the album 'Mahogany Soul', Angie kicks off with the soul funky tracks 'Wish I Didn't Miss You' and 'Brotha', both filled with some hair-raising harmonies.

The soul diva collaborates with crooner Anthony Hamilton in 'Stay For A while' from the album 'Stone Love' — a beautiful track in which the artists complement each other in terms of vocals and style… it's a must-play for Valentine's Day (especially for that long distance relationship)!

Also from 'Stone Love' is 'I Wasn't Kidding', where the diva has teamed up with 'Womack & Womack', to bring a little classic 80's disco feel to the collection.

Angie is a master of sampling some old school tracks and turning them into her own thing. This has enabled her to capture the novelty of those classic soul funk beats without loosing her cool.
