Desperate to get home for Christmas a college student (Emily Blunt, 'Devil Wears Prada'), hitches a ride with a stranger (Ashton Holmes, 'A History of Violence') from her campus, but when she discovers that he is touch creepy, he takes a shortcut…

They, of course, end up crashing. His 'secret' emerges and they spend most of the time pissing each other off before eventually bonding over a chocolate and obligatory body warmth.

Sure it's your standard horror fare: they're stranded on a deserted stretch of road, snowed in and fresh out of luck. But I would hesitate to call 'Wind Chill' a 'horror' — really it's not in the slightest bit scary.

It drags in places, and nothing really happens. There is the ghost story surrounding the stretch of road and said ghost makes an appearance a couple of times, but even that isn't creepy in the traditional sense.

But there are elements that really work — none more so than the interaction of Blunt and Holmes, both great actors in their own rights who are, truthfully, better than this offering.

'Wind Chill' isn't a bad movie — the acting is solid, the production values aren't too shabby — but it's not very good either.
