Looks as if we'll be seeing plenty more teeny-tiny little celebrity kids in the not-too-distant future — certainly if Jake Gyllenhaal has his way about it.
The word in Hollywood is that Jake's fallen super-hard for his 'Rendition' co-star Reese Witherspoon and is dying to settle down and have children with her. Wonder if Jake's sister Maggie recently having had her little sprog got her brother's biological clock ticking?
Reese already has two kids — eight-year-old Ava and four-year-old Deacon — from her marriage to Ryan Phillipe, so can Gyllenhaal persuade her to have a few more?
"He knows he might be jumping the gun thinking of kids," says a source to the US' OK! magazine, "but he knows that Reese is the one. He laughs and says he needs to propose and do this the right way. It really is first comes love, then comes marriage..."
Apparently, Witherspoon "reminds him that it's more than just coming over to take the kids to the park. Your entire life has to change."
Still, "She's admitted that he has grown from when they first met into this very dependable dad type. He is ready to have his whole life change."
And, of course, since Reese has picked another truly gorgeous man, she'd be likely to have some more beautiful babies.
Sticking with the parenting… Hard on the heels of Lindsay Lohan's mum Dina winning a mothering award (the mind boggles), Kevin Federline has been given his second great-fathering prize in half a year, for his rearing of Jayden James and Sean Preston.
Britney's ex just picked up the award for Father of Year from… uh, a Las Vegas club called Prive. I mean, what don't they know about the fine art of fathering?!
Could Alanis Morissette be planning a Brangelina-sized family? Nah, she's just trying to make a point about the dangers of talking to the tabloids. "Public romance," says the now-wary star, "I'm going to be avoiding that in the future."
"I think the only time I'll talk about any guy I'm with will be when I'm married with six kids."
Morissette made the comments apropos the news of her ex Ryan Reynolds getting engaged to Scarlett Johansson. Naturally, she's delighted at the happy news.
Not so delighted, but also having issues with the tabs, are LiLo's mum and dad. Trouble is, it's kind of hard to muster up much sympathy for Lindsay Lohan's press-loving parents — though I definitely feel for their offspring.
The Lohan parentals are still in the midst of a bitter, protracted custody feud over their two youngest children (Ali and Dakota), who are still minors. This just about a year after their divorce finally went through. But Linds' parents, Dina and Michael, showed a little solidarity when they stood silently together in front of the huge press contingent amassed outside the courthouse to cover their latest legal wranglings.
Of course, they needn't have posed there for all the photographers to snap pics of them, since only their rep was reading out a statement — but, hey, I guess that's the closest to a noble stand this pair is ever going to come.
