Good news — police have determined that no-one is trying to assassinate Kate Hudson. Wait, did I say good news?

The two men with a rifle on the roof of Kate Hudson's New York City apartment building turned out to be nothing more than innocent students shooting a film, and they didn't even know that the luminous star of such memorable flicks as 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' and 'Fool's Gold' lived there. And that's all I'm going to say on the matter — in the interests of not lapsing into slander...

Speaking of quality acting, seems Britney Spears is going to dabble in a little more of it soon. She's slated to appear in a cameo role in an episode of the sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother'.

"I was shocked that Madame Spears was willing to come and do some acting!" remarks one of the show's stars, Neil Patrick Harris. "She hasn't acted in a while. She plays the secretary to another girl that Ted is after. It will be very unlike any Britney we have seen before, and we have seen a lot of Britney recently."

Brit's dad reportedly had to sign-off on the project, as he's still in control of his daughter's affairs. In fact, an LA judge has just ruled that Papa Spears is allowed to take $2500 (nigh on R20 000) a month from Britney's estate to compensate him for being Brit's conservator, and has extended the period of his control.

Also likely headed to court soon are the producers of that prime piece of television 'America's Next Top Model'.

In a giant surprise to no-one at all, potentially top models turn out not to have an enormous amount of respect for others' property. Actually, Michael Marvisi, landlord of the gorgeous luxury flats in New York City where the herds of wannabe models were housed — is planning to sue the makers of 'America's Next Top Model' for the alleged $500 000-worth of damage (that's almost R4-million of destroyed stuff!).

"These girls not only destroyed the floors, it appears they had food fights. There's ketchup and coffee splattered all over the landlord's $20 000 (almost R160 000!) white drapes," says an insider to PageSix.com. He spent R160 000 just on the curtains?

"There's lipstick on the walls. They moved in furniture and made holes all along the walls... The landlord is devastated. Three other shows approached him and he turned them all down for 'Top Model'."

TRIXY HONORÉ
(pronounced On-or-ay) delights in the candyfloss vacuousness of celebrity gossip. Living in New York City, Trixy keeps an eye out for the rich and famous of the Big Apple as she hunts for great vintage clothing and tries to balance the joys of both style and substance. She is a firm believer in nice manners, wrist-length gloves and the greatness of television.

"And a tenant was supposed to move in a week ago, but when the place wasn't ready, they pulled out. Tyra Banks should be ashamed of herself." There are plenty of reasons why Tyra should be ashamed of herself — not least of all the fact that she thinks the sun shines out of her own ass — but I'm not sure that she can be blamed for the naivety of someone who spends a decent yearly salary on nothing more than curtains, and then expects to have them looked after by a bunch of models so starved that not enough oxygen is getting to their brains.

Less ridiculous, but probably a lot more expensive... a date with George Clooney. And not just any date — I'm talking about the chance to accompany Hollywood's favourite bachelor to the premiere of his new flick 'Leatherheads' and then hit the after-party with him later.

How do you make sure that you're the person by his side, helping him to forget about that girlfriend of his (you know, what's her name)? Just head on over to eBay and place your bid. You may need to rob a bank first, though.

Not so much a Clooney nut? Also on offer is a date with Scarlett Johansson to one of her new film premiere, and lunch with Minnie Driver. And, no, these stars haven't hit upon this as a way to make a little extra cash on the side — all the proceeds are going to the children charity Boys and Girls Club of America.
