Kagiso Trust Investment's chief operating officer Roger Jardine has resigned, the company announced on Monday.
His resignation would be effective from 30 June, Kagiso's Group Managing Director Johnson Njeke said in a statement.
However, Jardine would continue in the role of non-executive chairperson of Kagiso Media, he said. Jardine was chief executive officer of Kagiso Media for nearly eight years.
Njeke said Jardine had decided to move on and pursue other interests.
"We wish him every success in following the route he has chosen, and we know that he will be a great ambassador for Kagiso into the future," he said.
"He has always been a passionate champion of the organisation and his contribution to the group has been immeasurable.
"His commitment to promoting the values, culture and ethos of Kagiso has been a testament to the efforts of our founders."
Jardine, in turn, thanked his colleagues for their support and guidance in the years he was part of the group's strategic leadership team and helped shape its business strategy and performance.
"I feel confident that the team, with JJ Njeke at the helm, will go from strength to strength in making Kagiso the pre-eminent black empowerment company in South Africa," he said.
