The visit to Czech Republic aimed to reinforce political dialogue and bilateral relations; strengthen economic relations between South Africa and the Czech Republic.
"The visit also aims to tighten the Czech Republic's potential participation in the Asgisa and Jipsa. And also engaging the Czech Republic in support of the African agenda," the presidency said in a statement.
At a media briefing held in Prague, Mlambo-Ngcuka and Klaus agreed that the visit should serve as stimuli for further relations.
Though trade between the two countries was 'satisfactory', much more was possible.
Mlambo-Ngcuka and Klaus agreed that progress could be made in areas of tourism, science and technology and cultural exchanges.
In a meeting with the chairperson of the Czech Academy of Science, Vaclav Paces, issues of skills and technology transfer, closer co-operation between science institutions, and training in terms of Asgisa and Jipsa were tabled.
Mlambo-Ngcuka held discussions with Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek on the South African-European Union Summit to be held in France on 25 July.
Also tabled at the meeting was the status of bilateral relations, latest developments in Zimbabwe, energy, and skills.
On the second day of the visit, Mlambo-Ngcuka is expected to meet Lord Mayor of Prague Pavel Bem to discuss economic and social development of cities in their respective countries and the promotion of tourism.
Mlambo-Ngcuka will also address a business seminar and make a keynote address at the Metropolitan University on "Sustainable Development in Africa".
